As a club member, we provide you with the information that you need in order to be able to decide whether or not you wish to join in on the various club activities.  This is best achieved by email and by the website, but occasionally we may have to resort to phone or post.

We use your information in order to:

• communicate with members of the club – by email, ‘phone or post.
• deliver the occasional club newsletter / magazine by email or by post
• send you information about club rides, news, events, meetings and socials by email
• send your annual membership renewal notice(s) by email
• send welcome packs and membership cards by post
• help in the planning of rides and meeting places to suit the wide geographical distribution of members
• respond to member requests (eg for help or information).  Normally the request is sent to the broadcaster who will send out the email to all members – depending on the request.
• maintain accurate financial records
• provide an accurate headcount of membership to the British Motorcycle Federation
• to obtain an overview of the geographical distribution of the club membership.  We do this by plotting a ‘pin-head’ of all members’ postcodes onto a small scale 1:1,000,000 Ordnance Survey map.  The resulting image cannot be zoomed in or out, and does not identify any individual member.  At this scale the pinhead represents an area of about half a square mile.

We may publish photographs and videos on the website or in the newsletter of club rides and events.  Photos may include images of members, videos may show members’ motorcycles.  We would not identify members in the photos without their permission.  We use these for interest of our members and to help to promote interest in the club for visitors to our website.
