Many thanks to Eric for leading the July Ride. 8 members turned out and we welcomed Mick who came as a guest and enjoyed it so much that he joined us.
An excellent tour on roads less frequently ridden – mainly around the North Yorkshire Moors Countryside with a stop at the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge – with views for due South as far as Drax Power Station 45 miles away.
Lunch was pre-arranged at LordStones – near Chop Gate, north of Helmsley – with another very impressive view from Green Bank, north west towards the highest hills in the Pennines above Alston (Cross Fell).
We finished at Thirsk Garden Centre (just in time for a final coffee and chat), after a brilliant run down the B1257 and from there along the A170 and down Sutton Bank.
Brilliant weather. Good roads. Great company.
